Relitaos stepped through the jagged gateway, his feet meeting the grassy terrain of the Esthler Forest with an all too familiar crunch. All around him, the forest's pinewood trees reached for the sky, stretching far more than any normal tree could.
A voice. Relitaos turned, knowing the exact location of the speaker before the words had even left their mouth. In front of him was the Mercenary King of Sanc, his voice betraying far more emotion than his cold gaze ever could. As much as he may try to hide it, the king was angered. But, as a cold chill began spread across the forest, Relitaos noticed that his anger was focused, transforming into pure determination.
Here's hoping everything goes as planned...
Relitaos' hand moved towards his waist, grasping at the hilt of his weapon.
"Well, it certainly is cold... "
As he spoke, the Messenger slowly drew a slender, black blade. Gripping it tightly, he swung it to one side.
" But I wouldn't go that far."
In an instant, the armoured Messenger was sprinting towards the king, his sword digging into the ground beneath him. A mere meter away from Zechs, he swung his blade up, seemingly aiming at the king's neck.
Not that the attack would connect. The sword wasn't long enough. The true intention of the attack was the create a smokescreen of sorts, sending a cloud of dust straight towards the king's eyes. He wouldn't be able to register the tiny black balls that had formed in the Messenger's palm, nor would he notice the two bullet's flying straight towards his chest.

The hulking figure came to a sudden halt, as if colliding with an invisible wall. Thick frost had within in an instant materialized around him, stopping him in his tracks and forcing the dark spheres to absorb whatever frost they came in contact with, twisting and contorting it until both it and the spheres were no more. Though unable to see through the frost, Relitaos' innate connection with the material plane meant he could sense the king swinging his blade down, directly towards his helm. With a sudden jerk, The Messenger broke free of the fragile frost, but not before The King's blade collided with his helmet. Sparks flew as metal chipped metal, but before any serious harm could be done, Relitaos quickly moved to the side, jumping several feet away from The King.
The instant he landed, Relitaos cupped his hands together, pouring Chaos Magic into the space between them. A thick sphere of violet suddenly grew behind his fingers, before erupting into five swirling tendrils of Chaos that shot towards The King. These maelstroms of Chaos Magic also twisted everything they touched, but instead of contorting it inwards, everything in their path was blasted away, the very air around them shifting as it was drilled through. Three of the tendrils took to the sky, arcing towards the king at incredible speeds. The other two moved close to the ground, their ferocious flux digging into the earth and kicking up a cloud of dust.
