Searching Empty Searching

Post by Flynn Tue Mar 18, 2014 10:20 am

Annoyance caused my eyes to darken to a muddled brown, the light barely filtering through my visor. The lush jungle that hung just before the shores were bustling with activity, the natives laughing as they helped moor boats and fished. Gripping my gauntlets tighter, I looked toward the Tuatha De Denann- the valiant vessel that brought me to these shores. Its Mizzen hung down pitifully, and its Forecastle was still coated in Kraken blood. Grimacing, I walked further out, having already paid for the repairs for the ship.

That was both exciting and horrible...

Seeing someone catch my eye, I quickly ducked into a market shop- avoiding the woman who ran the stalls. One of the men who helped run the place stopped me by catching my shoulder, staring at me with piercing green eyes. His tanned skin made him blend with the shadows, along with his dark brown hair. A package was thrust into my arms, and a smirk was drawn on his face.

"You're late, you know."

His voice was as deep as I remembered, rich and filled with humor. Drawing my armor off, I brushed sea salt from the blended clothing of the natives.

"Well, you try and deal with the Krakens."

Wiping off more sea salt from my arms, I admired my Cae ruins- taking care to read them with pride. My past was written all over me, and I was proud of it. He looked at my pale skin with humor, before clearing his throat.

"The dye in that package will help me sneak you to the temple, but after that you're on your own."

Syris's voice was filled with humor, as he pulled one of the fish nets that hung on the wall. Something clicked, and the boards near him swung open to reveal a small room.

"Change in here, then I'll bring food and water for you. We'll take a pack for hiking, and I hope that you don't mind going barefoot. And, there's a robe there too to hide your white hair. We've tried the dyes on Cae, and they just run off of your hair."

Shrugging, Syris shut the door- leaving me in the dark. My determined white eyes left light for me to rub the dye into my skin, and pulled on the clothing of the village. Knocking three times on the door, I signaled that I was dressed- which resulted in the fishing woman opening the door to set down cheese, bread, and water. With a malevolent look of piercing green, Syris' mother left. My eyes flashed purple in amusement, before I dug into the food with ravenous speed.

The light that came through the cracks of the shack I was in went from white, to orange, to red, then left almost entirely. Only the moons silvery light was left soon after that, and three knocks came on the door- before it swung open. Syris' green eyes flashed in the fading light- almost animal in origin. Sighing, I got up and let the cotton cloths hang from me- hiding most of my body and hair. Handing me a pack, Syris waved me out into the now silent docked town. Passing through the ports, I couldn't help but look over at the Tuatha De Denann- hoping that its captain, Ajax, would wait for me to return before setting sail again.

Monde was walking within the markets of Omnivia, striding between stalls in search for something that interested him, but to no avail. He saw a woman walking towards the docks, the same woman he had noticed earlier. She seemed different than the other citizens within the busy market; something about her seemed special. He thought that no harm would come from following her, so he casually walked a few meters behind her, occasionally stopping to look at the stalls as to throw her off his trail.

The night air was cool, the moon casting a silvery light over the dew that was collecting over the foliage. Feeling something drip onto my foot, I looked down. Cursing quietly, I examined my hands. The dye was beginning to fade- and that wasn't a good sign.

"Syris-"

Cutting me off, he held his hand in front of me and stopped me. His green eyes searched behind us, narrowed in defense. Offering a questioning look, I moved my gaze with his.

"We're being followed."

He heard them speak, stopping and remaining silent as he realised he had been spotted. He turned his head, pretending to look at the gold and jewelry neatly laid out on a small stall, picking one up and examining it closely. From the corner of his eye, he watched the two people, hoping they wouldn't notice him.

Seeing as to how we were almost out of the town, it was more or less blatant who had followed us. Syris' eyes were locked upon the figure of a demon, and I narrowed my eyes.

"Can we help you?"

I felt out with my being, and got a general census of his Echo. I knew it from somewhere, and looked over at Syris to give him a nod. His green eyes narrowed as I moved forward, and widened when I pulled off my hood to stare at him in the eye.

"You were the stowaway, weren't you?"
