"Aren't Drachrain's known to be rash and violent, Var? Whoever thought of gifting such a reckless beast to a baby for her second birthday... What a fool!"
"Alvaih is strong, they will get along well. I am sure of it."
"What if the beast devours our daughter's hand? Then who will take responsibility?"
"Relax, Hallfrid. I'll be responsible and make sure they don't fight to the death. At least, not until they're older..."
"Varin."
"Right, I'm sorry. Nothing will happen."

"Remember?" Alvaih whispered, Vau's head resting on her lap, groaning, as if bothered by each word the Paradigm uttered. "Right, sorry, you're sleeping. I couldn't help myself but reminisce." A gentle hand lay on the beast's cheek, stroking it slowly, her lilac irises watching as the Drach shut his eyes. "You're always so grumpy when you're asleep... I could trade you for a happier Drachrain, Vaus. Maybe then someone will listen to me." She mocked, gaining an upset response from her travel companion, who, although couldn't really understand, always seemed to recognise when his owner was mocking him.
"I know I was a child, I can't recall events perfectly, but mother said that we brawled frequently, except... Not to the death," she paused, poking at the Drach's chin. "that's how we became acquainted, and soon, we were friends..." Alva leaned in closer to her companion's face, "or are we friends?..." Her hands began playing with his ears, Vaus deeply growling at this action. "I guess not, then."
At this point, the, what one would consider a fearsome beast, brought his paws up to his face, and, like a cat, stretched, and covered his eyes, as if in annoyance. "I know you love me, Vaus. You can't deny me. You're my brother. Maybe not by blood, but you are..." she rested her head on his, patting his neck with one hand, scratching his chin with the other.
"Fine, keep sleeping then."

Personality:
Curious. Vaus, although large and powerful, can become a kitten when introduced to new objects which he is able to swat with his huge paws. His senses are rather keen, and can be very useful at night. Usually a nocturnal creature, he will be easily upset when forced to remain awake for prolonged periods of time. He is a victim of a type of rage that is capable of blinding him. In battle, this can be quite fearsome, but dangerous, as his rage takes him on some sort of bloodthirsty frenzy.
