A lonely mountain (open)

Zaulin was standing on the top of a high peak, talking. He wasn't talking to another person, or even himself, he was talking, to his lance:

"I rather like it here" he said
"It is empty, almost as empty as I".


He stared out at the hills rolling below him, and started to feel lonesome, he almost wanted someone to come along and interrupt his thoughts, almost, but not quite.

Alaude would make his way through the Monolith Valley heading back towards the main city of Centuru. He had just finished a small mission that would help support his blood addiction twice out of each year Alaude would have to feast on human blood to sate his appetite and keep his vampire desires away from human  flesh. To prevent this he would order heavy doses of AB postive and O postive blood. While passing thriugh he noticed a man holding a lance, "Hello there."

Hearing the voice, he turned around and studied the person who had spoke, noting the lighter than normal skin and purple eyes. "What do you want?"

He smiled, "Just passing through didn't mean to bother you. Sorry about that." Hr began whistling as he passed the man above him.

"Wait" he said as he sheathed his lance "where are you traveling to?".

"Centuru, why?"

"I hope you're not planning on... draining someone while you're there" he said, as his hand started to glow red.

"Dont worry I dont drink blood from anything but plastic wrappers and unlucky forest animals."

"Hmm" he studied him for a few seconds before he spoke again "what is your business in centuru, migh I ask?

"Turning in a mission and going home. My house is just on the outskirts." Alaude felt slightly uncomfortable as if the man thought his intentions were poisonous and cold.

"If you don't mind, I would like to join you" he said "after all, the long walk to Centuru can get... lonely"
he smiled, although the smile didn't quite reach his eyes.

"Ummm, Sure. I could use a traveling companion." He waited for him at the bottom of the valley.

As he climbed down, his hand stopped glowing, and he thought this day might not be so uneventful after all. As he reached the bottom, he thought of something he hadn't said "by the way, what is your name?".

He waited until he hit the ground to respond, "Aaroniero Alaude Klaus, but you can just call me Alaude." He extended his hand to shake the mans, "What about you? What is you name?"

"Zaulin, Zaulin tolaeris" he shook his hand, although reluctantly "so, what was this mission you where on?"

Alaude sighed. He had noticed that himself the detective was getting interrogated by this man who slightly annoyed him, "To track down a rouge Vampire and neutralize the problem." He said that as casually as possible but he knew the man would question him.

He seemed to accept the reply, and asked "tell me, do you travel often?"

"Only for missions. I try do do two a month."

"Have you ever met anyone named...... Ilara in your travels?" the name was but a whisper, and Zaulin seemed to be growing sad.

"No cant say I have." Alaude ran his fingers through his hair as his eyes twinkled a ruby red.

"I didn't think you would have, but it was worth asking" a single tear slid from his eye "well, shall we go then?".

Alaude began swifty walking through the valley, "So what brings you here?"

"Centuru was too crowded, so I came here to clear my thoughts three days ago, and then I got into a deep conversation with Ürûthrìl, but i was interrupted by you" he said the last part with a slight frown "what was that?"

"Ür what?" He looked so confused.

"Ürûthríl" he said, smirking.
